NIB GRINDER X STILO&STILE
Mark Bacas is the owner and nibmeister behind Nib Grinder. Mark specializes in customizing nibs. His love for pens, pencils, and stationery was instilled in him from a young age when his father brought home his first Parker 51 fountain pen. Mark's deep interest in fountain pens grew further when he learned of the Atlanta Pen Show in 1996 and started attending the show.
His interest in fountain pens and nib grinding expanded after he had some of his own nibs customized. He learned to grind through trial and error with some guidance from a mentor, as well as others he looked up to. After starting with his own nibs, Mark’s work expanded to his friends’ nibs; after a time he was getting so much work that he decided to make Nib Grinder a full-time job.
The motivation behind the creation of Nib Grinder was Mark's belief that every individual deserves a fountain pen that is tailored to their unique writing style. Nib Grinder's mission is to provide each customer with a nib that not only complements their writing but also expresses their character and personality. The goal is to create pens that customers will cherish and enjoy for many years to come.
PREDATOR EXTREME
Predator Extreme by Mark Bacas features a very fine point on the normal writing side and reverses to an Architect.
CURSIVE SMOOTH ITALIC (CSI)
The CSI grind provides nice line variation with a smooth writing experience in a larger variety of writing positions/angles. It is available in Fine, Medium and Broad sizes.
ARCHITECT
Architect nib can be used for any variety of writing, but is the perfect nib for block lettering. It writes thin on the down stroke and wide on the side stroke. Available in Fine, Medium and Broad.
FUDE
The word fude comes from the Japanese term meaning brush. This nib born to write Japanese calligraphy that has a lot of line variation. It writes with different sizes based on the writing angle making it perfect for your creativity and enjoy the shade of your fountain pen ink. You can also try to write your daily notes in reserse!
BLADE
Blade nib by Mark Bacas is shaped like the curved edge of a knife/blade and is similar to a Sailor Naginata Togi. It is available with Fine and Broad sizes to satisfy those who prefer a finer writing size for every day writing and those who prefer a broader size to enjoy the fountain pen inks.
FORMAL ITALIC
Formal italic by Mark Bacas, also known as a crisp italic, features sharp edges. It provides maximum horizontal to vertical line variation. Due to the nature of this grind, Formal Italic nib requires a good writing position. It is available in Medium and Broad.
LEFT FOOT OBLIQUE
Left Foot Oblique is the perfect nib for people who rotate their pen slightly. Standard 15 degree oblique. Available in Fine, Medium and Broad.
RIGHT FOOT OBLIQUE
Right Foot Oblique is the perfect nib for people who rotate their pen slightly. Standard 15 degree oblique. It is suggested for left-handed users. Available in Fine, Medium and Broad.
