The four semi-transparent resins exalt design and mechanism of this Visconti Opera fountain pen. The "squaring of the circle" design was patented in 2004 and features a square form with round corners.

The cap features "Hook Safe Lock" system that is easy to use and safe. But the most important feature is the Visconti's patent Double Reservoir Power Filler that allows a great ink capacity and safe usage in extreme conditions (for example on air flights).

This particular filling mechanism works like a vacuum filler but when you fill ink and close the piston knob, the ink inside is divided in two parts. The first one, smaller, that you use while writing and the second one, bigger, that fills the first when you need. Just unscrew the piston knob with the nib up and rotate the pen to charge the first tank. This system is extremely safe on flights where changes of pressure usually cause leaks and spillage.
