Do you want to know more about Esterbrook nibs?
When you buy an Esterbrook Estie fountain pen, you can choose between standard nib sizes and custom nibs produced by artisans for a different writing experience. The nib sizes of Esterbrook Custom Nib Program are Journaler, Scribe, Needlepoint and Techo.
"Journaler" is hand worked by Gena Salorino, an american nib master. In her own words, the custom nib Gena is grinding for Esterbrook is a “medium stub grind, based on the vintage Esterbrook 9314M nib. The idea is that it’s smooth and friendly enough for everyday use, gives your writing some flair, all without being too huge for practical writing”.
"Scribe" is made by the New Yorker Josh Lax and it's his version of architect nib. Gets inspired by the Near East architect nibs, less common than architect nibs based on European and Far Eastern styles of writing. It gives the writer the flexibility of fine downstrokes and broad horizontal strokes and can also be used in reverse for additional variation.
"Needlepoint" is hand worked by Kirk Speer of Pen Real. It writes finer than ExtraFine and with its needlepoint, as the name suggest, is precise and smooth. The ideal nib size for notetaking, writing on planner (also with reduced space!) or for artists who need to write very fine.
"Techo" is produced by CY of Tokyo Station Pens. It was designed to be an all-in-one nib to keep on-hand when you're away from your desk. With its line variation, it is great for journaling, sketching, writing, or however else you let your creativity flow. In fact it changes the line depending on angle at which pen is held.
