Since 1858, Esterbrook Pen Company have played a significant role in the history of America. Several pages of American history was wrote with an Estrebrook fountain pen. The presidents Abraham Lincoln, John F. Kennedy e Lyndon B. Johnson signed legislation with their Esterbrook pens. Famous Disney artist Carl Banks brought Donald Duck to life with an Esterbrook No 356. Peanuts creator Charles M. Schulz used the No 914 for all his comics.
And after a closing period, the factory was reopened in 2018 with new model called Estie, nickname of the brand and a tribute to 30's. Clean and vintage-inspired design with a ringless cap and without any metallic parts. Esterbrook Estie is a confortable and well balanced fountain pen with a cushion cap closure that provides a secondary seal to ensure a wet point.
Made with several colors of resin, turned with a high polished finish. Every color is available in gold or rhodium trim. Honeycomb reminds the color of honey and has, in this model, rhodium trim.
Now you can also choose "Journaler" nib size, a particular nib hand worked by Gena Salorino, an american nib master. In her own words, the custom nib Gena is grinding for Esterbrook is a “medium stub grind, based on the vintage Esterbrook 9314M nib. The idea is that it’s smooth and friendly enough for everyday use, gives your writing some flair, all without being too huge for practical writing”.
