Visconti Il Magnifico Fountain Pen Calacatta Gold Limited Edition

Visconti presents the seventh edition of the Il Magnifico collection, in the elegant white and gold nuances of the precious italian Calacatta Macchia Oro marble, in a limited edition of 188 fountain pen.

Visconti Il Magnifico collection, dedicated to Lorenzo de Medici, celebrates the most powerful and enthusiastic patron of Renaissance culture in Italy during his reign as ruler of the Florentine Republic. As a patron of the arts, he is best known for his sponsorship of artists such as Botticelli, Leonardo da Vinci, and Michelangelo, who, along with other great Renaissance artists, created outstanding works of both art and science by exploring nature and precious materials.

Visconti Il Magnifico Calacatta Gold is made with a rare and expensive elegant white Carrara marble with gold veins quarried in the Apuan Alps. Calacatta marbles have been reserved throughout history for only the most prestigious projects and art works, such as those by Michelangelo and Donatello. It is synonymous with luxury, elegance and sophistication. In fact, its prestige is due to both its quality and rarity: its production in Carrara is limited and controlled as are all the finest products of Italy.

The pen is made from fine Carrara Marble, yellow gold and brass, elements that gracefully come together as the result of extensive research by our craftsmen. The barrel, in marble, is complemented by a finely engraved blind cap decorated with symbols belonging to the Florentine tradition, such as the famous Florentine Lily. The same decorations can be found on the precious pen cap, which mounts a white enamel clip.

All metal trims are crafted in yellow gold-plated brass, so as to harmonize perfectly with the warm golden hues shown in the marble. The same yellow gold finish can be found on the precious 18-karat solid gold Visconti nib. The fountain pen fills ink via the patented Power Filler mechanism and cap features "Hook Safe Lock" closing system.
