To celebrate MD Paper 15th Anniversary, the company invited 15 artists to get creative with the MD Notebook and enjoy the way you can write everywhere, even the cover. Then they created a special-edition MD Notebooks with the artists' illustrations and writing blind embossed on the covers.
Charlene Man is a Hong Kong-born illustrator based in London and Hong Kong. The simple compositions and fun colors of her works appeal to people of all ages and cultures. Her works are infused with humor and the mix of cultures in her background, and you can see how much she enjoys being inspired by elements of everyday life.
About the work for MD Paper, Charlene Man said: "I wanted to create something that would invite people to interact with the notebook, pick it up and turn it around to noticed there’s a little humour in it with the phrase “You make me smile, when you say cheese” in hope of the audience will actually reach and say cheese. Inside pages is a piece of writing a did which inspired by the title. I often write in my own time but this is the first time I decided to show a piece of writing at an exhibition"
